Australian Arcade Walkway finishes update
Our brief was to bring the Australian Arcade interior back to its former glory, honouring its 1960’s charm while complimenting many of the contemporary updates of existing tenancies. We found inspiration from older style flooring treatments and shopping centres typical of the 1960’s era including Queens Arcade in Leeds, Great Western Arcade in Birmingham and the Royal Arcade in Melbourne. We decided on a central checkerboard patterned layout with perimeter and horizontal boarders in hues of grey, black and white to define and frame the corridor drawing the eye to each store front.
